Privacy Policy
Effective November 8, 2026. Written in plain language. See also our Terms of Use and Accessibility statement.
The short version
- What we collect - your email address and trade when you subscribe, anything you choose to send us, and basic site and email statistics.
- What we never do - sell or rent your personal information, or hand your contact details to employers, recruiters or staffing firms.
- Your control - unsubscribe in one click from any email, and ask us to see, fix or delete your information at [email protected].
Who we are
Per Diem Report ("Per Diem Report," "we," "us") publishes a free weekly email newsletter and the website perdiemreport.com (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Service, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Questions go to [email protected].
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Subscription details - your email address and, if you choose, your trade. Some signup forms ask optional questions, such as which job site you want alerts about.
- Crew reports and messages - pay, per diem, housing or job details you send through our crew report form or by email, and the email address you send them from if you provide one. Crew reports can be sent without an email address.
- Business inquiries - name, company, email and phone number if you contact us about sponsorships or job listings.
Information collected automatically
- Email activity - our email provider records whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked, so we can measure what readers find useful and remove addresses that bounce. Links in our emails may carry tags showing they came from the newsletter.
- Website analytics - we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and page speed without cookies and without building a profile of you across sites.
- Distance from me - on the map, distances are worked out in your own browser. Your ZIP code and location are not sent to us. If you enter a ZIP, your browser may remember it so you don't have to type it again.
- Server and security logs - our host records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and referring page, to keep the site secure, block abuse and count traffic.
- Device storage - the site stores small items in your browser, such as whether you dismissed a banner, whether you already subscribed (so we stop asking), and saved copies of pages so the site works with a weak signal. These are not used for advertising.
We do not use advertising cookies, sell data to data brokers, or use third-party ad tracking on this site.
How we use information
- To run the Service - send the newsletter, deliver free reports and alerts you ask for and answer your messages.
- To improve it - understand which sites, tools and stories readers use, and fix what is slow or broken.
- To publish crew reports - we check and may publish the pay, per diem and housing details you send, without your name or contact details unless you ask to be credited.
- To report audience totals to sponsors - for example, "40% of readers are electricians in Texas." These figures are combined and never identify you.
- To keep the Service safe and lawful - prevent spam and abuse, enforce our Terms of Use and meet legal obligations.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe - every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. We honor it right away.
- Access, correction and deletion - email [email protected] to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will verify the request comes from you and respond within 30 days.
- State privacy rights - residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and other states with consumer privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and port their information, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling. We do none of those three, but we honor these requests from anyone, wherever you live, and will not treat you differently for making one. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
- Global Privacy Control - we treat a browser's Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information.
- Browser settings - you can clear or block site storage in your browser. The site still works, though you may see signup prompts again.
How long we keep information
- Subscribers - while you stay subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a do-not-email list so we never email you again by mistake, and delete other subscriber details within 12 months.
- Crew reports - the published details (pay, per diem, site, trade) may stay on the site as part of our pay history. Any email address you sent with a report is deleted within 12 months of receiving it.
- Logs - kept only as long as our hosting and security providers retain them.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to reader information is limited to the people who run Per Diem Report. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
The Service is for working adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Search engines and AI assistants
Our public pages, such as job sites, pay figures and free tools, may be read by search engines and AI assistants so crews can find them. This covers only what is published on the website. Subscriber lists, emails and crew report contact details are never published or shared with them.
Where information is processed
Per Diem Report is based in the United States and the Service is meant for readers in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell subscribers in the newsletter before it takes effect.
